Open Up Possibilities ( O.U.P.)

Open up the possibilities. Be willing. Chart out the possibility whether it is a dream, goal, or a mere thought! We need to teach dreaming and creativity. Our schools need to have recess but we also need to have dreaming, and creativity 2.0 with a funded idea hub or think tank. We should teach our youth a course on "inventing and reinventing". These are all concepts most of us have to face in our lifetime. This next phase of life is all about opening up the possibilities, 2020 and beyond. The rules do not apply as we can see. I encourage you to open up the possibilities, be creative, invent and be ready to reinvent, retool, and move forward. Signed, O.U.P.

Virtually Living, A ReQuiem to A Tweet

As the tweet goes, are you living virtually or virtually living? Our mere existence is shifting to a virtual cloud. We've brought our joy, sadness, failure, creativity and love to the virtual space. Everywhere we turn we are scanning, uploading, posting, texting, chatting and voicing our lives in the virtual galaxy. The virtual galaxy of netscape, aol instant messenger, skype, google, doodle, and noodle. We are rush hour no longer exists because we are zooming to the next assignment and social gathering. Letter writing, paper, pencils and pen will be revolutionized to a new digital concept. If we can't go back to the good ole' days, can we erase the backspace, and the delete button to create a hybrid digital eraser that counts the number of letters and characters deleted from a paper while erasing? can we leave the whiteboard to go back to the blackboard and use one pen to digitally select various colors of chalks to use on the blackboard? can we just bring those old thi...

Gardening

Pause. Standstill. Inhale and Exhale. Pause. Standstill. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale. 2020 has caused us to pause, standstill, inhale and exhale, and even exclaim! The p...a....u....s...e (yes, pause) can help you realize what is really important to you, what are you are thankful for, and aspects of your surrounding area that are enjoyable. The pause has allowed me to create spaces for focused activities and repurpose spaces to pursue or fulfill interests. Yes, create and repurposes spaces! My deck has been converted to a repurpose space as a Garden! I've dubbed myself as the Urban Veggie Queen and have committed to post daily about my venture as a gardener in a garden bed, pots and other containers on my deck. Check out one of my first videos! https://youtu.be/2x1UU9VBKJE Gardening has been therapeutic. It has allowed me to enjoy the process of gardening, watching different vegetables, herbs and flowers grow. I've enjoyed the birds chirping in the mor...

Reflecting

During these challenges times with despair front and centered on the publicity of injustices in the US against African Americans can be very overwhelming and heart wrenching to the masses world wide. There is an opportunity when the light is shown on the perils of injustice. Many times we have an unhealthy coping mechanism the supersedes our endurance of societal travesty. This creates an unhealthy balance. It is important to release our pains and avoid negating our feelings. In effort to remain uplifted in a heap of despair and call to action, we must acknowledge our hurt, pain, and echo it in the call to justice. We must not be afraid to identify the inequalities explicitly. We've witness the torture and inhumane murders of Black men, women, and children for centuries. Yet, the society has not acknowledge these travesties. In acknowledging the inhumane treatment, we might propel the action of the justice system to address factors contributing to inhumane treatment by the majorit...
